EDITING

Written English is a very complex language. We have countless exceptions to our convoluted grammar rules; we have many words that are very similar to each other with different meanings. Our punctuation rules can make the meaning of the same words quite different:

A woman, without her man, is nothing.

A woman: without her, man is nothing.

I take great delight in finding errors in written communications and fixing them. I will edit your website and other written materials that deliver your business to the world. Chances are high I will find mistakes.

I will also edit for content, in addition to simple spelling and grammar. Does the text make sense, is it aimed at the audience you wish to reach, does it contradict itself on the next page?

Poorly written material reflects poorly on your business. If writing is not your passion, your business needs a professional writer/editor to deliver the message you want.

Why Punctuation Matters

A panda walks into a café. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.
"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.
"I'm a panda," he says, at the door. "Look it up."
The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.
"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."
